This is a one day only class of 3 hours! Perfect for those with no sewing experience, or for those who simply need a refresher course on how to sew and use a sewing machine.

The Emerson pattern is a pull on crop pant or short with an elasticized back and front waist band. Choose from a mid rise that sits just below the natural waist or high rise that sits over the belly button. Featuring front pleats and side pockets. Finished shorts with an approximate 4inch inseam.
Size options from 0-18 (26inch to 38inch waist)
In this 2 hour introduction to sewing you will learn the basic principles needed to operate a sewing machine, pin and cut fabric and sew a basic seam. You may bring your own machine, or use one of the studio machines.

4 ways to mend: Bring your well loved, well worn jeans (pants) for a makeover. We'll cover repair basics from 'no sew' patches to more advanced mending techniques using fabric patches and visible mending with embroidery.
4 ways to hem: Got a stack of jeans (pants) to hem? Bring them in and we'll show you how to hem without sewing a stitch! If you want something more sophisticated, we'll be covering hand sewn and machine sewn hem options too.
FORM will provide machinery, tools, thread, fabric patches etc. You just bring your jeans and prepare for a fun, relaxing group sewing session.

Learn to create a pattern from your favorite simple garment! Once you have the pattern, you’ll be able to make more of the garment in different fabrics, maybe even experiment!
Simple garment examples: basic tank, A-line skirt, simple pants, etc.
*This class requires you to know how to sew & have a basic understanding of store bought sewing patterns for beginners.

The fabric selection for your garment is one of the most crucial steps for a successful project outcome. Sometimes it’s the right pattern but the WRONG FABRIC. Learn about the different fibers and construction so you can make a more informed choice when it comes to fabric selection (especially when buying fabric online)! Class will also cover which fibers are sustainable and which ones aren’t great for our planet.

The Wiksten Top is a flattering, loose-fitting woven top. It is slightly cropped but can easily be lengthened to suit your style.
